Use it or lose it: to rust, when you could have been using it!
They all suffer for being stood, driving it gets the wind blowing though and keeps it all working. Better off driving a bus you love than a car you hate.

A few years ago a car I had blew the engine, I parked it up for 6 months, when I came to scrap it I was shocked at how much corrosion had set in under the bonnet, I drove that car 100k miles over several years and the engine compartment always looked good, after 6 months, it was like it had been left for years.

as said the wind whilst driving blows all the moisture out.

Right, here's a funny graphic showing how many of our vans hibernate every year - note the graph rising and falling as vans are SORNed for the Winter year in, year out on the 'How Many Left' site... This one's for the DG engined vans registered ad Caravelles, by the way, so the great majority will be campers like mine.

Looks like up to 1000 of the remaining 2500 of this type on the roads are only taxed 6 months of the year. Cheapskates!

Mine gets used all year round too. It's basically my estate car (only much more practical and comfortable). In fact I wish i could drive it more!

Seems like lots of you use your van all year. Do folk keep them under cover? I live in Edinburgh and have to keep the van on the road. For the three or so years I've had it I've had it in storage ( a big warehouse) for the worst of the winter. Maybe about 3 months. Not cheapskate :D dearer than keeping it on the road !
It does give me a bit of peace of mind when the wind is howling to have it sheltered.
Mine is pretty old at 31 and whilst I get the drift that it is better to keep it running , day trips in the wind and rain up in these northern climes aren't always very alluring ! I miss it though! Hoping for a few more trips before the winter sets in.

I ill be using mine all year round for sure. Although with the price of storage over here, I could spend 10000 on it every 5 years for the same price as trying to retain a shed!
