Re: Mot Emissions

This problem concerns me a little too, your not the only one. Having never had a problem with emissions previously I had a long conversation with my local VW CV main dealer about this as my 1.9 DG barely passed on emissions. They had to add a fuel treatment (sure it was Fortron) to get it through, and before anyone says 'rip off' or 'snake oil' blah, I wasnt even charged for it.
They advised me to service it prior to MOT moving forward, so while I do that I will also drop some additive as above, Fortron or Wynns seems readily available, although there are a few out there.
Obviously I want the camper to pass without any technical defects, I keep it as perfect as possible, so the emissions reducer is just a back up. I also overhauled the Carb, a standard Pierburg 2E3, the auto choke was miles out of tolerance, I replaced it (I am almost sure the auto choke unit is now discontinued and unavailable), The pull down unit was completely knackered with a split pipe, so that was changed also.
Other than that I wondered about a Terraclean, however feedback on the use of this on a T25 varies.
Lets hope it goes through MOT next time without a comment or i'm on to plan B.
