yes this all sounds horribly familiar...my WBX has the same symptoms, wont tick over after choke...

Blockages in tanks manifest themselves worst when the demand for fuel is high, not at tickover

your issue is more to do with mixture..ie too much air from a leak

Yes - I will investigate that - I also had the issue with the smell of fuel, although shes not been ''filled up'' for years. Will check for the leaks as suggested...check / replace fuel filters etc...

Hi all, I have had similar problems with my 1.9dg starting problems mainly. In the past 2 years I've done the tank,fuel lines, electrics and carb but will the brake servo hose prevent it from starting intermitantly ?
How did you get on with yours johncccc ?
