I paid 60 quid last year to get 4 wheel laser alignment done , in the hope it would sort my pulling to the left , but it made no difference.

So i think im going to attempt to do it myself , diy style. Seen the stuff on here about setting toe and camber but wondering how i can check the castor? Was thinking should be able to calculate it by measuring from rear hub centre to front hub centre then doing a bit of math?

Also need to set up the toe and camber on the rears as i changed the trailling arms this year and havent sorted them out yet. I can see how i can set the toe and camber set on them but how do i make sure the are pointing straight forward down the van?

Camber on the front easy enough as you just aim for perfectly vertical on level ground. Toe can be checked with a length of wood the width of a broom handle, say half an inch shorter than the distance beetween inside rims of both front wheel. Put a woodscrew in one end which can be wound in and out until it just touches the rims. All you're measuring is the difference between inner fims at front and rear of wheel - rolling vehicle forward and backward to double-check with steering in straight ahead position. I've always done mine that way and got them bang on. A hang-on from my bug days. Camber - not worth messing with unless you've stripped and fitted new rubbers - job I've yet to do.

P.S. Rear toe I think can be done with string line (check Youtube) although not tried it myself.

Well I ended up taking it to a garage to get the 4 wheel alignment done and watched as they did it. All were within tolerance but it still pulls to the left! When driving along straight if i pull down on the right hand of the steering wheel and let go it instantly pulls the wheel back to the left . However if I pull down on the left hand it stays down on that side and thus steers toward the kerb.

They didnt check the castor however as there was no readout from their computer for this, could this be causing the above symptoms??
