Hi, new to this but thought I would add my tuppence worth, have you opened the bleed screw in the engine compartment, ref the radiator bleed valve, after I changed my water pump I thought coolant would never come out of the radiator bleed screw but it did eventually, the temperature gauge remained hard right for what appeared ages, the fan even cut in before water came out of the radiator but I kept an eye on the radiator temperature and could feel it getting hot before it eventually relented and bled ok, in between I switched the engine off and then back on again after a bit as was worried about overheating and damaging something else, the revs have to be kept up in order to push the liquid through I suspect, hope this helps. If resolved hopefully others may gain something from this.
