Glad to hear that the 17D is a good work house especially where i live in cornwall, up and down the hills. Mine has a 5 speed box could do with 6 gears  Just dont keep driving it if you hear the buzzer of death. I did ask if a turbo could be fitted and the reply was no? Hey just had a thought :idea Not sure if it has a 5th gear now???? have not taken the van out of its winter sleep for 5 months.

Hi,

What is the buzzer of doom. Is it an electrical issue? I've never heard this

Please ignore my question as I googled it. Oil buzzer of doom!

Yes, it's a really annoying loud buzzing noise. Sometimes caused by dodgy electrics or defective oil sensors. In my case it was doing its job.
Real shame I never worked out what went wrong - it was cheaper to put another engine in (1Y).

The buzzer does pre warn you especially when going around the round abouts

Mine has started to go off round roundabouts when I go round quite fast but I was to,d the engine was pressure tested by the person that sold it, the oil level is a little high so I think the oil might be frothing up a little and upsetting the sensor. Does this sound viable to you guys? It only beeps for a few seconds after a tight roundabout

when mine did this on roundabouts and decided to check the oil level and it needed topping up, only by a small amount. This put a stop to it :ok

Hi all
After getting mocked by all my t4/5 mates for bying my 1.7
All the usual stuff it's to slow / noisy / so on
All I can say is it's like a donkey
Reliable / trust worthy / hard working
Iv seen lots of t4/5 with constant not starting
Leeks oil / water / fuel
So the morel of the story
If it ain't broke don't fix it
