I'll keep my eyes open for your sweet hi-top. Liking the black stripe there... (and your birdseye pea-mobile icon heh)

I followed the pattern moulded into the lamps themselves and it seemed to work ok at the MOT centre.
I'm considering the idea of a second UK set of lamps that I can swap out if it's not too difficult - but am fine with the mascara for the moment. Thanks for the offer of help though. Nice people here!
Look: A lego westy!

I never understood this. Why not buy a pair of correct RHD 7" round headlamps from any motorfactors. Can't be more than 30 quid for the pair, and you wouldn't need to tape anything. Best thing, is you can keep your LHD headlamps for when you're travelling to the continent.

Ok so she's finally registered and running a treat.
Yay! No complaints
so far but I have some questions:
Headlamp bulbs. They're fine but not madly bright. Can I upgrade them without frying my electrics? Maybe something a bit bluer/brighter. It's got fogs up front but they are linked entirely with the rears so no use really except in fog obviously.
Reversing light. There isn't one. This is an early van. How easy would it be to retrofit new clusters and the appropriate wiring so people can see when she's docking...?
Rear window. She's got that tinted Westy plastic double-glazing which I'm sure is good for keeping warm but the rear tailgate one is pretty scratched up and hard to see out of. I'd consider getting some real glass from a breakers here as mirrors are ok but it'd be nice to see a bit more out the back. In the rain at night you'd better forget the notion of seeing anything.
What are the ideal tyre pressures for an 82 a/c westy? Can't find a reference in my manual.
Oh - being worried about the whole kmph speedo thing I made a little chart to stick on the inner windscreen for quick conversions to mph in gatzo country.
Click here to get a printable PDF. I slipped mine into a little Ziplok bag and stuck it up with double sided tape above the tax-disc. Seems to work pretty well and isn't getting wet (yet).

See Wiki for the headlight upgrade, it`s quite an easy thing to do if you are OK with vehicle wiring, needs 2 relays, 2 fuses and some proper capacity cable and a few crimp-on connectors.
If you don`t know what you`re doing, don`t do it
