I have to admit, that does look good. It looks diffused and a warm white .....only thing putting me off is the price....

A lot less diodes within the length. The ones that were half the price had half the number of diodes. Took me a while to realise.

But almost certainly brighter than yours.....those are 5050 SMD LEDS ! yours may have twice as many LEDS but they are only 3528's which are nowhere near as bright

I would have said definitely worth a punt at nearly a third of the price the only thing putting me off is the colour temperature...'Cool White' which tends to be a little harsh.

V true, I hadn't thought of that. The smaller ones diffuse a bit better I think. Just a shame they aren't cheaper.

I have ordered one of the cheap ones, out of curiosity (tightness?)

Power draw of the LEDs is about 4 watts can't remember what the fluros take unfortunately. Any rough ideas?

I have what you refer to as the cheap one fitted in my van. They are probably nearly twice as bright as a normal T5 tube. Yes they are whitish but not so much as to be a problem to me. The covers on the light fittings I have are the frosted style so spreads the light adequately. From memory the foot long normal tube is 8w and the LED versions are about 3w.

Nice. Can we have a picture when you have a mo?

Sorry no picture at the moment - my fittings are stripped out presently as I am fixing a leak in the roof! Don't think it would help much as mine is an Autohomes, different light fittings than a Westy.

I have also found these which are a bit cheaper. They also do a frosted version. Too late for me as I've already shelled out.

E D I T forget that, these won't work

LEDs now installed all round. Instant on!

I swapped my tubes for the LED bulbs too, they aren't as warm a light but the power consumption is so low, great.
