Always ask for quotes (as in, please could you look into the problem and phone me with the quote for the repairs)....and tell them to contact you if they uncover further problems.
Simply telling them to fix a problem is like presenting an open cheque book!

I have to be honest and say I tend to only do my own repairs nowadays but seeing exploitation like this when I have the shims and tools makes me want to offer a tappet service at a more realistic price. The other issue is weather as I haven't got a garage at home although the tailgate and a bit of plastic sheet offers reasonable protection.
I don't like to see members being taken for a ride and the offer is there but I'm not doing the running around sorry..

Yeah, I'm too relaxed about this sort of stuff, I'm too used to my usual place, free fixes as a Christmas gift (family friend)

Most so called vw specialist don't have the tools or experience with these engines i have tried 3 vw specialist in my area.
