I don't think it had been changed before as it was dark treacle black & absolutely stank to the point I had to move away from it. Luckily there wasn't too many filings. I think I'll only be doing 3-4k miles a year plus i drive like Miss Daisy so will change it every 24 months.

good thread hijack!

no worries - if someone learns from this - and a box is saved....then brill :ok

I shall certainly be ensuring my syncro has an oil change again this year. It was done last year when I had the gear linkage sorted out, and it does drive nice,....but £25 as preventative maintenance doesn't sound bad!!

My box is still easily engaging all gears, and cntinues to pull. Not jumping out of gear....so hopefully a few more miles left in it. Will keep eyes open for second hand box.
