100% agree.

tap stopped working so I fixed it...

then I b*ggered it up again by knocking the switch underneath with something. Will have to spend time with head in cupboard again.
on the whole it is a civilised experience filling kettle from the tap and induces envy from the tent brigade. However i do also have a collapsible water carrier for when I want the kettle filled in less than five minutes.

I use my sink and tap. The tank gets emptied when not going to be used for a while and cleaned regularly. The water always tastes fresh. I could manage without it, but I wouldn't want to.

as do I.
and a full 60 ltr water tank is no heavier than an average size adult passenger.

Precisely. It's all right for you flying solo. When I've got three people in my bus, the last thing I want to help burn up fuel even faster is a non paying passenger, when water is freely available out of a tap at the end of my journey.

You actually charge do you?

I don't always "fly solo", but the point is that this weight is just a drop in the ocean compared to the weight of the vehicle; I doubt it would cost 1 mpg

there isn't always a tap at the end of mine and besides, breakdowns etc there's always a possibility you won't arrive at all

I don't think so Keith
the weight of water is small compared with the weight of the van
or
the weight of a drop of water is small compared to the weight of the ocean
...a drop in the ocean

where is it from though...ultimately.....
the water we carry in our vans starts or ends in the ocean....
a drop or two "from" the ocean.
