If it's the front then don't just spray brake cleaner at it, it won't do a thing.
Squeaky front brakes are usually pads stuck in the caliper.

Or the pad coming of its backing due to rust in between...

Its the rear end and definitely something rotating with the wheels. Couldn't see anything wrong with the drum and back plates. Guessing now so have ordered rear wheel bearings, hope that's it.

My friendly local garage had a look and reckons the rear wheel bearings are fine. He reckons propshaft uj's so they are on the way. Drove down to Brighton today and it got much worse, juddering in the drive train. The uj's were cold when I stopped. Now running Ok, no squeak. Hope it makes it home! :-(

You could prove it's the prop by removing it

No more squeaking, its wobble wobble now !!

Turned out the rear UJ was shagged. My friendly garage did both for me yesterday, but now its out of balance - doh. We got it back on the ramp tonight, I can see the small reference hacksaw marks he made between the yokes are mating so its gone back together as it was.

Only thing is the GKN uj's from Simon had grease nipples that fouled the yokes so he carefully ground evenly in the centre only to allow the grease nipples to clear. Maybe that is enough to put the prop out of balance, I would have thought not, but now I have a wobble. Very noticeable from 35mph

Only other thing is I would have preferred if he had marked the flanges as well so it bolted up exactly it was. Am I right in saying there are 4 to the power of 4 combinations of how it could bolt up? Does that really matter anyway, if I took the prop somewhere to get it balanced it bears no relation to the flanges on the diff/gearbox etc.

Where should the rubber damper in the prop be, its currently at the front. Near my rear UJ there is a very big dent in the box section rail beside it so I suspect a UJ failure in the past, but the location of the dent looks as if the rubber was at the rear in the past.

Seems strange that I had a smooth drive and now may need to to get the prop rebalanced?

Any thoughts please?
