I ordered the JK one this afternoon - after the 80-90 discount it came to £43, delivered. Hopefully I'll be able to comment on the quality tomorrow.

You know I only order from them to wind up the nay-sayers

If it's anyway decent I am tempted by the JK one, I'll have the eber up and running soon, so just want something to take the chill off the cab area

According to my thermometer, a thermal screen protector only improves the temperature inside by about two degrees. It does however stop condensation dead in it's tracks.

Well Im a tight a***. So as I ahve accidently ordered 50 sqm of Double bubble foil backed insulation for my Myrtle to line her out. I have cut off a big piece for the windscreen that i trap inside the front doors close and it holds in place. Inside I have out pieces for the windows slighly larger than window, stuck velcro dots on it and it sticks to the carpeted interior. Because theres a gap it seems to insulate quite ell and cuts out light too.

I've been thinking along these lines too. There was discussion in another thread that the internal screens don't help much with condensation because air flows easily between the screen and the cold glass, so I was thinking of ways to seal this foil backed bubble wrap to the window better - more like double glazing - which it sounds like you've achieved with your velcro dots.

My van is lined with vinyl above the waist, so I was thinking of using velcro loop strip all the way around the window rubbers and hook strip all the way round the bubble wrap, to make a nice snug fit. The price of 20m of velcro hook strip and 20m of velcro loop strip is a bit of an issue though.

Have you got a BUYOLOGY near you. They sell it in rols for about £2 I think its about 5 metres long. I can check out the prices for you and send some up if you cant get it your end

No, I've not come across Buyology. There are one or two cheap household goods places around though - I'm going to have a bit of a browse. Thanks for your kind offer - I'll let you know.

Magnets are another thing to consider to attach the screens to the inside

nBefore we treated the van to a Silverscrean we had a home made job constructed from a piece of thin grey tarp radged from a skip. Made it double sided. It fitted perfect and worked fine. Still have it as a back up or templat.

That's not a bad idea - some notice board magnets, or perhaps some of those small and strong rare earth magnets, should stick to the metal window surrounds pretty well. I'll have to get some of this bubble wrap and see how grippy the magnet would have to be.

Sorry to go "off topic" but where did you get your Eber fitted, or did you do it yourself?

My JK screen arrived today.



Seems well made, and fits ok. The material is layered and padded, and seems like it'll provide some insulation. The fatal flaw though, in my opinion, is the fact that it's made in three pieces, with velcro joins along the A pillars. This would make it quite easy to steal the screen part at least, and once the screen part is removed and the tension in the door pieces disappears I reckon the door pieces would come off quite easily without opening the doors. So if you're a heavy sleeper I reckon someone could take it quite easily during the night.

Still, the velcro joins provide some scope for adjusting the tension - I've lowered the screen part an inch or two as it was a bit tight to start with - you can probably see that in the photo. As it ages and sags it might be good to be able to tighten up the tension again. For £43 delivered I'm pleased with my purchase.

Am surprised that they designed it so that it could be lifted so easily!
Maybe "designed" is a very strong word.

It looks far looser than the Silverscreens version.
