Camping and Caravan club have good 5 van sites also.
Normally less expensive than caravan club sites, and more likely to be inhabited by camper vans and maybe some tents rather than Caravans.

Good point and good choice. A friend of ours is in both clubs; but then that means two annual subscriptions. So we just tossed a coin really when we got the van. Very happy with the caravan club but I'll bet the C&C Club is just as good.

Sorry - I was just pulling your leg a bit about Poole. You are right there are loads of places around Poole that are both scenic and interesting, and Poole is as good a place as any to use as a 'base'. - Harry Redknapp lives there too if that's anything to go by.
Dorset is a lovelly County - one of the few in the Country that has no motorway.
Before moving to Lincs I lived at West Lulworth - near the Cove - so I know the patch quite well.
When we moved here, we met our new next door neighbours, and where do you think they originated from?? - It was Upton in Poole!

So I will stop knocking Poole, and hope you enjoyed visiting the Dorset Dumplings. :ok

A1Winchester. Sorry if my response wasa bit narky Id had a bad day and took your post the wrong way.

Yep I may have owned Myrtle since 2006 when I was in Germany but it was easy over there I just used to jumop in the van and tour the Moselle and other places using the wonderful Aires. I had this brilliant book I have since lost - damm

When I got back to UK circumstances meant poor Myrtle was sat on my drive in Bucks til 2010 when I moved down to Devon again. New job, new house steep learning curve and no real time to play. Consequently she started to havea few problems but Ive had someone welding her and fixing everything and early this year she and I were ready to hit the road again. Have Van and dog so will travel lol.

Ive joined Camping and Caravan Club and Britstops so am getting out more. Unfortunately that weekend was a Bank holiday and it was pretty difficult getting anywhere. Ive been told I can wild camp on Dartmoor in loads of places, however although my favourite style is almost wild camping Im a lil bit wary of where I park. Especially after one place turned out to be a dogging site. Slightly scary for a single female and my dogs only a Cocker spaniel. So Im trying to discreetly find out the dogging sites so I can avoid the damm things!!

Yes its ok you can laugh your socks off. I nearly wet myself with the tapping and trying of door handles, youve never see someone pull a jumper on, jump into front seat and yank thermal liners off and drive like stink out of there so fast..
