Cleaned the connectors and earth strap, they were pretty manky (good Scots work for dirty), cleaned them up and it starts far better but still has the occasional stutter.
ordered a bearing.

had a go at removing the bolts from the starter motor but couldn't get a spanner to fit, 14 too small 17 too big and a 16mm metrinch spanner was a bit too loose as well,

what size is it?

Yea sort worked that one out but why is every spanner set i have not got a 15mm size in it.
i had a good look and found a total of 7 sets, not one 15 so its off to toolstation on monday and another set to add to the collection.
any other sizes i will require for repair work
