They do look nice..
However what I can't understand is someone spending all that money on brakes but using car tyres on a heavy van.
Also, what's up with the road spring in the picture?

Spring looks like it's been heated to the point of bending it, maybe to lower the van?
Either that or it's broken

Looking for some South African Hubs for mine - so I can fit some whopping S4 brakes

I think I read it was a broken spring that got changed. It was on a tristar with a scoob engine in I think in the states but can't be sure. That's expensive for those hubs and then s2 discs and brakes on top. I'm hoping to fit porsche brakes for half that.

I've got a full set of S2 brakes that I got off a mate for free - just need to find those elusive South African spec hubs now

the £ 84,000 van has no carbon fibre as far as i am aware and its running high performance car tyres and its been round the nurenberg ring and hockenheim at seriously high speeds

They ain't slow if they're set up right.

Looked at the specs on one of the split Vans they had.
They take a T3 floorpan and suspension and fit the Splitty body over it, so we've already got the best suspension set up

Having owned a Golf Rallye - the T25/T3 set up is surprisingly similar - especially at the back

Them holes are mighty close to the edge, I would've liked to see more material around them myself.

Just wanted to add some technical info into the weight vs speed debate

Brakes convert kinetic energy into heat

kinetic energy = 1/2 Mass x Velocity squared

so if you double your weight, you have double your kinetic energy to disipate

if you double your speed, you have 4times your kinetic energy to disipate

thats why fast cars have far bigger, more efficient brakes than heavy vehicles do

and thats the reason why ever faster cars have ever bigger wheels, its not to look good, its so they can fit big enough brakes in them

only problem with using original discs as hubs is you add at least 4mm a side to your front wheel track so if running big wheels and porsche adapters being a 15mm minimum in width you need a big et to bring it back in line

I dont mind the extra width, I have an et of 57 on the pork wheels. Plus 25mm adapters. Just the rears is the pita as I need some really wide adapters to fill the arch!

Faggie how did you do yours did you make a custom hub? I thought about that but this seemed the cheapest way and has been done many times before with merc discs.

i did it the same way as you have done but due to running 8 1/2 inch wide front wheels it just wont work even with modification to the top arm and using 15mm porsche adapters the wheel is still nearly to the edge of the arch , ,i could roll the arch and fit narrower wheels but the wheels cost me a small fortune so are staying , you can buy new hubs but are vastly expensive in 130pcd pattern that is the way forward maybe in time, but for now i am running stock brakes with porsche pads goodrich hoses and uprated servo due to the van being stripped out they are adequate , what width of wheels are you running front and back

Yeah I know what you mean, mine come to the edge of the arch, I don't mind so much but it makes the rears look like they are too far in. Mine are 8" all round. I will need to tuck the front in alittle more as I'm putting in air ride next.

i used to run 9inch rears with 45mm adapters that filled the rears arches ok , i now run 11 inch rear wheels so i have no problem filling arches the 9 inch actually was nearer to the rear of sliding door due to design of wheel both needed the hinge modyfying for clearance

Yeah I need to do my hinge now aswell. Where did you get your 45 adapters?
