Get on top of it and keep on top of it is the only way with these vans.

I do envy those who have the time to spend learning and gaining the skills to do it all themselves. I was handy with spanners once; back in the days of morris 1000's, but too many years of too little time have robbed me of the confidence to tackle some of the things i should be doing and it invariably now takes me too long anyway.

Ill do the easy stuff but it is one of the things i need to get back in to because an hour or so under the van with spanners has got to be better than the three hours walk to get help followed by two days waiting on a garage mechanic any day !

Our most recent experience took three days out of our holiday and we lost our accommodation too! But how many people would take a rear bearing set and hub on a european holiday ?

Hah I've carried a housing under my seat since my rear bearing failed on a holiday which resulted in this:

Funny that too, am taking one to SP... I know one's sortof on the way out, has been for about 40,000 miles now

but aren't they always (somewhere between not quite right and maybe 'on the way')

Mind you, if you will fit those wheels and tyres that are far too big and heavy, nature will take its course
