Welcome to my world..
Thanks to the smart @rse who went blabbing to ze Germans about the TDI starter adapter we sell, sadly they didn't have their facts right, we buy them in not make them.
Funnily enough there was someone on the samba bragging he bought said adapter cheaper in Germany cheaper than he could in the UK.
Brickwerks, not always commenting but always reading...
Funny really.

You're not for a moment suggesting that someone was currying favour?
From where I'm sat, making syncro accessories is a bit of engineer's playtime but it's not the basis of a business model for the UK market. If people like what I make and my take on things, then great. It all feeds back into the syncro microcosm and maybe helps stop it all getting stale and formulaic.
Just look at a lot of the German "scene" vans, they all look the same!

i have a few sets here which were initially returned to the fabricators after having noticed the welded tabs for the use of using a hi-lift jack on them.... well... wasn't even there! they told me they were done to the drawings! funny how the batch before them had the tabs on them and on the drawings. when i got them back with the added jacking points, they had ground back the powder coating and grafted the tabs on and them and black hammerite'd instead of re-coated. i am just about to have a batch done again over the coming weeks but this time they are going to another coaters where they will be shot-blasted, zinc coated and then powder-coated. the new place hasn't given me a price on the process but has guaranteed his finish with a 2 year corrossion warranty, this will also be the case on the spare wheel carriers for the T3 and the ball has also started rolling on the (design stage)T4 Syncro ones. waiting to get costings back on job/multiples discount. obviously going to be much more than previous price but the finished article will be so much better and last/hold up to wear and tear better. prices shouldn't be majorly affected if the discount on bigger batches balances things out in the end?
i will make arrangements next week to have the ones i have here to be re-coated at the new place and place next order to get a production date/delivery timescale for the next batch. so hopefully have the remaining few sets re-finished in a couple of weeks? cheers mcgill

Ive got a set of Campernutz rock sliders fitted. Good sturdy items and apart from the powder coating issues that Ian has mentioned and is addressing they are excellent. I know who i'd rather pay my money to.

Hi Lee. Now that's something that I'd like to see! Got any pics? I guess that's materials only and you're not including your hours
Give the state that some van's sills can deteriorate too I can see where you're coming from. Chop out the rot, jacking points etc and replace the lot with some nice heavy hollow section right through. I might still go that route yet.
