With respect, why is everyone talking about the lag when switching over from LPG ? This isn't the OP's problem

I am with Martin on this one It ain't likely to be a pump (or tank) issue due the the fuel in the float chamber (imho of course )

My question is, does it spin over as fast when it has been stood for a few days, as fast as it does when starting after it has recently been used ?

The point I was making originally , before we got off topic was the outlet on a injection tank is twice the diameter bore to that of a carb system.... Therefore the pup will struggle to prime the float chamber .
Even Zoe's DF engined van winds over plenty of times after being stood a few days before the lazy old pump gets enough fuel up ....and it's always been a DF ....an electric pump will solve this .

Steve.....why would the float chamber need priming? it should already be full of petrol from when the engine was turned off.
On the other hand, Injection systems do need priming to ensure sufficient pressure for the injectors....two completely different systems.
However, I do agree that an electric pump is better, for a start, they deliver full pressure straight away and don't rely on engine speed.

clearly the petrol either evaporated or runs back whilst being stood?
i dont pretend to know why, only that before i fitted a electric pump it needed to wind over loads after being stood for a week, after it started immediately ......
