I'm sure you could, it would be as strong as your sealant and preparation. Don't see why not except perhaps in a strong wind- but then in that case the method of fixing on would not really matter!

The thing is the footprint of the rail is tiny compared to the surface area you'll be fighting the wind with

Screws needed. Get longer ones than provided with the kit.

Seal under first, then screw. Good luck!
