hi,
can i just clarify, LPG is fine to use with stoves etc instead of butane? this seems a lot better than trading in bottles at a garage.

Yes, it is fine for stoves and fridges. It also has the advantage that it doesn't stop working when the temp gets below freezing like Butane does

I always thought it daft that a fuel used for heating doesn't work when it's cold

You can also buy fittings for these that enable you to fit a fill point to your van, just like the fill point on the auto LPG Steve does. You can also fit outside BBQ points, to save lugging the canister outside.
Personally, I would pay the £100 extra (and have in the past) to have the underslung one. Just for the fact of the amount of space saved inside

Looks like a 20 litre tank is £250 + VAT (fitted is £380 + VAT) at Gasure.
This holds 15 litres and costs £150. No contest in my view.
So if you have to get someone else to fit and certify it, it costs £380 + VAT (£446.50) so these are nearly £300 cheaper, not £100.

Hey, I just thought, if you can, as you say, get remote fittings for these, you could fit one of these under the van
Said a bit tongue in cheek of course (I think...)

ghost123uk wrote:The under slung tank will hold more I guess, but I don't think anyone needs more than 6KG at a time. It's certainly a HECK of a lot cheaper and doesn't eat up your ground clearance, and is a LOT lighter. Plus it's zero maintenance and cannot hardly go wrong ! Takes up a bit more room inside the van though, but that doesn't worry me considering the advantages.
dont know,
fridge on 24/7 ,hob./oven /propex and thermX and a month away, underslung or find space, under 200 for the bits , fitting is easy and away you go
mm

that far from an LPG station
