Have tried this on the camper section, to no joy, i am taking the hi top off my Komet, have a devon side elevating to replace it. when the hi top is off what needs doing obviously it will need a roof skin but what else needs to be considered? oh will need the gutter sorting too whilst at it. cheers

What do you mean by a roof skin?
The hole in the roof should be the same, or depending on how old the Devon roof is, not big enough.

When you take the fibreglass outer off there is a whole wooden frame bit inside if its the same as the one I have seen apart.

I have retitled your thread to attract the at tension of people who maybe able to help, as "new roof " didn't really say much as a headline!

dont need a bed per se prob something to pop bits and bobs up when parked up, was thinking the wood that is there would suffice.

right, if you have the new pop to hand and its complete with the mounting moulding etc then off with your hitop and you will be left with a hole  i would remove the pop fabric and sepparate the lid from the rest and then ofer up the pop base to your van , this way you will get a better idea of what may or may not need removing , and get the camera out and start adding ssome picks so we can better advise

1st pic is of the moulded top that's fixed to roof :) this what canvas gets fixed to and the dampers to lift the top up so make sure you get that spot on!
Also be carefully taking the canvas off if in good condition? I had to make my own!unless you want to wait up 8 weeks for a company to make 1?

Am taking the roof off the van thats donor as a template so will just be a transplant on with the hole in the right spot, my worry is whats lurking under to hi top and the gutter needs attention too.

Like metalmick8y said take the roof off and take some pics? Did you say your getting the roof skin as well with the poptop? If so you may be able to cut the gutter section off that to repair yours?
