And who knows what previous owners did, or in some cases didn't do?

Going by the empty condom wrapper I found when removing the R&R bed, I know exactly what he did...

Wow! What a coincidence. I found one Exp, dated 1990 when I rebuilt the bed in my camper. Often wondered if that was the last one in the pack!
Those were the days... (or maybe not)

PS off topic or what!

Hi everyone,

I only got my van a couple of weeks ago and have no previous experience. I've read all this thread and the Wiki but still can't decide what to do.

The coolant is at the min level so needs topping up but I don't know what type's in there as the van's new to me.

I don't want to drain it all if I can avoid it.

I think the stuff in there looks pink (maybe newer OAT based??). Is it worth taking a punt and topping up with OAT based ? I've read on here that mixing the wrong kinds can cause problems.

I've thought about trying to contact the previous owner to ask what he used.

Any comments welcome as I'm spending far too much time thinking about this :D

Cheers
Craig

If it's pink then its almost definitely a long life OAT based A/freeze.... :ok

Cheers Martin, I reckon I'll go for some pink stuff then.

I took my headlights off, emptied the water out and dried them out like you suggested. I think I sorted the problem. Cheers for the advice on how to do it. My wife was well impressed with me.
