my first welding of my van was by the seat belt mounts, so under the cab mats just incase it wasn't perfect ,but it came out well.
glad your happy with it etc but that sentence is what were sort of getting at, not somewhere Id like to start learning but what do I know

Rock solid ..cut out whole area , plated from underneath with zintec fully welded both sides , New anchor point .probably helps I work for a sheet metal company

Yes, but at least you know what you are doing.....
Plus licences are only a legal requirement for ISO /EN 9000.

I think it was the bloke who designed (?) and welded the foot bridge for the Queen Mary 2, who thought he didn't need a licence..
