It's just that most experts and semi-experts don't like them because they cut half way through the actual copper wires to make a connection, thereby creating a weak point. In practice, especially in low power circuits, they function perfectly ok. "We" just prefer summat a little more, what's the word, "better" will have to do ;)

Great! I'll not spend the next bank holiday replacing the millions of them under the instrument panel then! Might go for a drive instead! Thanks again for the advice :D
