They provided a hook-up point. Lynne was unable to use it, due to having a a short cable. The question is whether 40ft/13m is an unreasonable distance to expect somebody to have sufficient cable to use the point.

IME, it is - frankly - shorter than most sites. At that point, it's Lynne's lack of suitable equipment, not Haven's inability to supply.

If I hire a 'pitch with hook up' I don't expect the hook up to be more than a few paces away. This is of course different to a site where hook ups are spread about and where there are no defined 'pitches' as such and you park as near or as far from them as you like.

Having said that, I very very rarely use hook up

Hook up cables are generally 25m long, so if the hook up was further than that then I think you are within your rights to complain.

Agreed...10m cables and you risk having to bridge the rest of the distance with tin foil.
Since I bought a 25 m reel most ehu points now seem to be within about 5 foot of my van.

I would still get it out of your system, this late on... now steady of hand, and intent in purpose, and say just what you think... and DO quote the price, at £68 for a hookup you expect a post dedicated to your plot, plus a GOOD plot, and no nonsense about someone else having plugged into what was SO OBVIOUSLY , YOUR hookup point.

Just ask them, '.. did they fail to provide what they themselves would expect for £68 ?'

If no, exactly what are their standards of service then? Would the local tourist board agree?

not that long ago I went along to a Haven site and paid not much more per night for a full caravan with all the facilities over a weekend stay deal
Needless to say we left the camp a day early because we found Haven in general to be god dam awfull at everything - would need to pay me to step foot in another one of their badly run rip off hell holes again.

I stayed at one as I was meeting some friends, they would not take my booking as a single person. Couples or families only - when I questioned why they said safeguarding. So I said - obviously Fred West in a couple was safer. I could feel her roll her eyes! Eventually I had to lie to get in, if it had not been a friends birthday I would never have gone, and would never return again. Shocking place.

When i was there I did notice it was a sell out though. I suppose it keeps people off the quiet sites I like!!
