First ever camping trip was at Coopers, school camp 1976- some good walks up to Kinder on the Pennine way behind the site. Camped there again in July 1990, first daughter born following April - i clearly didn't stay in the pub long enough!

snigger....the only thing to change is the price, but its still reasonable........shame the Nags aint,,,,,,,, we walked in a 7.55 , last food orders clearly said 8, to be told "chef" has gone home :shock:

Landlord dint even offer us a chip butty :shock:

meggles we not decided where we goin just yet...1 depends on weather and 2 waiting for my m8 (the_blue) off here to get his LT through mot lol, but ill stick it on this thread incase anybody else is interested in goin. i dont really know anyone on here, dont really do big groups of folks :?

There's also a site just off the A6 between Ashford & Bakewell - easy walk to both, then on from Ashford to Monsal Dale and the wonderful old railway viaduct, now walking trail - the tunnel's now open, so you can walk along the old railway line all the way from there to Bakewell, for a big circular walk.

It's an amazingly beautiful area - but I'm biased, since I grew up in Ashford...
