Sorry to resurrect this old thread but the lights are now only £8.88 each!!

Did anybody buy these?

Do they fit?

Can you remove the three "TABS" that are used to secure the Hella lights to use on these?

It's dark here now so cannot see to check if the tabs are removable, anybody know?

Some time ago now but I think it was CovKid who bought some....(don't quote me I'm getting old lol)

I do remember that they were a 'generic' light (Certainly not Lucas or Hella) of reasonable quality (obviously not as good as a genuine unit) but do fit with a little effort.

At that price they are an obvious improvement over OLD TUNGSTEN 'early' lamps and of course legal with the required left hand kick for the UK.

Horses for courses....not brilliant quality but good for the price.

Thanks for that Martin, I thought the price was too good to be true!

I will not bother and just find an original light instead

I bought some from Carparts for less/Eurocarparts, they are not Lucas and they do not fit. The original lights have 3 tabs on the outside edge (1982 van) these units don't have the tabs. So you will need to sort a retainer ring to suit. They look like they are made in India/China.
I did complain to the seller saying they had miss sold the items (not Lucas etc) and they agreed to accept the parts back for a refund with a refund on the P&P as well.
Another supplier getting away with selling cr@p

Did anyone get these to fit?

I only just found this thread when my two new lights arrived and I they don't look like they'll fit. Dark outside so haven't actually tried admittedly. They don't have any tabs to screw them in place.

Desperate to upgrade from the original candles that I have at the moment. Although not desperate enough to fork out £45 per light, the entire replacement

Been sitting here mulling over how I could make them work. How about tying them on with wire? Really tight. Or is that a bodge too far.

Easy enough - I just made 6 stainless steel retainer clips, 3 per unit to hook over the glass and use the current screw holes. Make them slightly on the short side and then you put tension into them which holds it firmly. Make them a squashed Z shape with a slightly oversize hole for the retaining screw as this piece will be at an angle and a correctly sized hole will not permit the screw to go in at the correct angle. Vast improvement, didn't even need to adjust the beam pattern. Coupled with Nightbreaker bulbs they transformed the lighting. They do fit but you have to think about it - some people seem to lack the ability to work things out for themselves and give up at the first opportunity!
