Early and late manifold pipes are a lot different

Brickwerks did get some early pipes made in stainless but they have never appeared on the webshop. I think the price was too prohibitive iirc

there are tons of performance exhausts available for the type 4 engine ranging from very little money to totally ridiculous ,

Hi I bought a stainless steel custom backbox off of ebay for around 240, with a lifetime warranty. It looks the part and sounds amazing, my 2.1 wbx sounds like a v12 race car!

Two Strokes rely a lot more on the Exhaust for performance though surely? hence the wider range, might get a 'clubman' for me van

Yeah they will Cruz, you just need to get a suitable adapter or get one made up, If anything I'd say the earlier system is harder since theres no choice but to use a type4 1700-2000cc header. With the later system you have a lot more options once you figure out the coupling needed. I always felt that stock silencers were becoming way too expensive and considering they're only steel, a poor choice against a stainless bike can which you can get for under £20 some places.

I would think any good stainless pipe outfit could make up the rest of the system at a much lower cost than the £500+ price tag of some T25 stainless solutions, even if it meant doing one section at a time. There are a few in Cov that have given me quotes around half that kind of price using my existing Kawasaki can and you end up with something far more unique and certainly more 'tweakable'.

The only reason I came up with a bike can is I had to take the stock one off to weld up the tailpipe and just couldn't be bothered to put it back on again. Sat and thought about it overnight and just went for it. Now everyone is doing it, like rollering. That'll teach me to open my big mouth.
