You can often quieten noisy cv joints by grabbing the driveshafts and shaking them in and out a few times, it's no substitute for stripping and regreasing them properly but could stop the noise for a few thousand miles till you get round to doing it (I've been meaning to do mine for close to 10k miles now

)

Have had the same issue (kind of) and a new drive shaft sorted it. Had the problem again and it was three loose bolts on the inner joint. The noise also came back yesterday but nothing obvious like loose bolts or moving the drive shaft back and forth in a rhythmical fashion has helped.
