cos the van won't be getting dirty again thank you very much, so no point in jacking it and messing with the suspension geometry

Oddly enough it is jacked and the geometry is within tolerance! Lovely even wear patterns on the tyres to boot!

Thanks PB!
I forgot to mention that these have been checked for fit against a pair of brand new Lemforder joints from Brickwerks.
The pocket to receive the "cap" of the joint has a 3mm fillet radius for maximum strength. This is slightly shallower than the sharp-cornered pocket of the SH ones but still gives ~3mm clearance over the crest of the cap.
I wanted to see more metal between the location spigot and the bottom of the pocket, for a good night's sleep.

Have a look on samba...I think Neil kindly posted up a dimensioned drawing of the front cv guards a few years back. They are quite DIY-able.

Al has had a set of those on his van for ages, and glad to see they are still as good as new

I have seen other variations do, not so good.....

I've had a couple of reports come in from people experiencing fitting problems with our spacers. Before any rumours start flying about I'll try and clarify what seems to be going on.
Our spacers have a spigot diameter of 42mm to plug into the top wishbone and the same diameter pocket to accept the balljoint. Both are tightly toleranced to within 0.05mm and these sizes were taken from an old sample pair that originated in SA (no apologies for that, they were a proven design)
Our reference for fitting was a pair of brand new Lemforder balljoints, supplied by Brickwerks, which mic'd up at a whisker under 42mm diameter (even these needed a bit of deburring and flatting on the flange to enable them to seat properly) We intentionally made the balljoint a snug fit as the last thing needed here is clearance, which could allow them to work loose.
The problem seems to be the open-limit sizing adopted by some of the balljoint manufacturers out there i.e. some are a bit on the "full" size resulting in the spacers not fitting without a bit of light honing with a flap wheel first.
I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience caused and will see to it that our remaining stock have an advice note included to clarify this matter
A side issue that has also been identified is that the location hole for the balljoint in the top wishbone is (sometimes - needs verifying) significantly oversize on the 42mm, so spacer or not, the balljoint is not securely located other than by the bolts. Very strange.
