now this little bit of surface rust that wanted a bit of the proverbial "elbow grease", i knocked the pod out of it and

so

this way i can now remove the remainder with little damage occurring and make good that area, figure the B post bottom will have to come off along with the JP etc etc.
so off with the osr wing to show some of the previous repair

on this occasion the new works were tacked by the usual migging in the seam itself

then filled with pod

the nsr Jp is the same but i forgot the picky , will sort one tomoz,

im sat in the warm now........................................., its not that bad the n/s around the sus and jp mount are not too bad, and can often be repaired properly, all good fun
but we do need a new N/S inner sill and a front JP..

Well some bits arrived

initial intercooler search at the local part dept

issues with the lower font panal, probably a one off but

it appear to have been overspotted, the panal is also a bit distorted down here and im not wishing to work on it and then fill it with pod
definition in the pressing is also poor, bit like those rear bases in the rear 1/4's with the cross in them they are skinny thin metal so no excuse andyhows

here you can see the absence of the cut outs and pinned holes for the headlamp backings to screw into

no part number on these 16mm bars to reinstate the front panel

so bit of a day chasing round and sorting bits etc, been elsewhere to check out some more intercoolers and dropped the complete front defo panel off at a new place to be blasted, so it coming together nicely and we have sourced some parts abroad so all looking good

I see what you mean about that front panel, pretty poor. Even more so when you consider the price of it.

Well a happy night(searching stuff) and a productive day, firstly we have sourced and awaiting delivery of a nice genuine OE ns inner sill..
collected the front end from the blasters

well worth doing

and


this is the face the lower front panel welds to, so we dont want any scabbyness here.i have run a flexi disc over them so all good now

i have taped it as im wanting to do those areas with weldthru,

its a lot of effort but a very important area and has to be done right and as the old front came off there is no excuse really
N S rear light is a bit skanky

just to clarify ref the nsf arch/B post
i have removed a portion of the arch so i can easily and without damaging anything remove the lip from the B post, reason being that it would be impossible to cut/grind/blast the seam to satisfaction, they all need work here and this is the easiest way

when done I will weld the cut off bit backtogether and all will be good..
this doesnt look to bad and wont be dire but no way to do it right without removal

next this bit of shiny is to go

Front panel is looking nice
I have some nice shiny new lights to fit on the back......
Can't believe my luck with the N/S sill, well happy.. Did not want to have to settle for one of the repro ones. Got a email saying it's been shipped this evening

No going back now the ccooler has gone! Will be even more space once that pump and hoses have gone. ( he can have those brackets for the cooler too)
What do you reckon on the probability of the the jx filter fitting back in there?
