Been a while but I decided to completely do away with the rear wing as It was full of filler and the lower sill was poorly fitted to say the least. So after plenty of grinding and my first ever experience with a spot weld drill bit I have managed to get most of it off.

Butchered this bit slightly but hey ho!

Close up of the lower sill. Doesn't seem too bad so no need to fully replace.

Next job to scrape and clean away the old VW underseal from the arch.

And finished the day with this. All covered with red oxide and ready for new sealant, then on pay day I will order a new wing and lower sill ready to be welded in place.

Glad the trailing arm brackets are fine.

Nice to see progress is still being made on this....like me you have to do things on a payday by payday basis! frustratingly slow but does mean more time and care is spent on each stage I find.

Cheers mate. I am hoping to get this finished over the next few months. Just waiting on a few quotes to be finalised then I'm ready to go ahead!

Suppose a lot has been done but there's still some way to go. In somebody else's hands now. Plan is to finish the body, replace brakes and fuel lines, get it running and past an MOT. Will update when I see it next.

Thanks for putting the effort in to posting your up-dates, its really useful to see whats under the skin. Im looking at some minor repairs under the rear wing for the MOT so your posts have been great for planning. My front steps were much like yours, but the van has faired better further along with only a few bits of plating. Im looking forward to the final reveal.
