So what time do you think you'll arrive on the mainland? We will be arriving in Cherbourg on the Monday and taking our time along the top of France and hopefully arriving on the Thursday a/noon
Has anyone considered the Arctic Circle Bus Run in Norway that is happening in mid June? Thinking of parking up the Syncro somewhere and flying home and then returning in June and heading up to the Arctic Circle. Any takers......

I'm just about to collect a Syncro Caravelle, making prepping for this a bit easier (roof and interior conversion on the 'Syncro velle vs 4wd conversion on a Westy).
I could take the crewcab but then we are into hotels or tents
I'll ask the missus to confirm our availability tonight and get onto booking.
Can't wait.

We sail at 8am on the 28th, so with the 2 hour crossing and jump the 1 hour time difference it should be 11am arrival in Dunkerque.
Overnight stopover in Dortmund area we should arrive in Mammut park Thurs afternoon aswell.

I've booked ferry to Denmark in April, doing the Artic run early & will be coming down to Hanover for meet.
Thinking about booking return now.
To be clear on the convey home.........
I take it you'll be leaving site mid-afternoon on the Monday 3rd. Driving for a few hours west, where is everyone thinking of stopping? Then after breakie, off again mid-morning to Dunkirk for the 6pm crossing. 8pm arrival ? Are you all thinking of scarpering on home from there? Long old day, especially with kids. Anyone taking an extra day?

I've had a bit of an investigation on overnight places, has anybody got any particular needs?
I presume toilets?
Possibly showers?
Local to beer?
Local to food?
And if anybody has any suggestions local to the motorway in the Dortmund area
I've got a few campsites - but they are off the route, a few stellplatz but the places are limiting.
We have spoken to a local friend who drives through Germany reguarly and he has suggested the motorway stopovers.
Your views & help on this would be welcome...

At those motorway places, a darn good meal is usually a few paces away. So a good English cuppa wouldn't be a problem in them either. Agree that a sit down and a cuppa is v.important.
