Well built up this side, caliper was sticking so stripped and happy now

n/s looks to be a replacement caliper and all was well

roll bar to fit up and rod ends to loosen in prep for realignment

well popped over to the powder coaters and picked up the rear light guard

i chose to alter with round bar to make it obvious rather than replicate the original. i think it works
safe body back, and the coatings gone right inside so hopefully many years without rust or flakey paint in there,

will fit and weld the door on and then install it

Well remembered there was to be a tow eye on all corners so made this one

should be enough weld the front part is also bolted and ive shaped it so the 4.5T shackle will fit snugly

shackle fits either way

and

it matters as some items you hook to have a preference
whilst i was having a delve about i noticed that the front panel has been cut and joined here
may be able to spot it here

havent had a good nosey yet and have noticed this

this is maybe from towing/tying down or ????
anyhow not an issue for now

so on to the cooler rad
if i was building a wc system then i would have made a rad slightly different so it would fit a lot neater but in this case i have adapted it as best i can for the reasons that will show next

steel pads shaped a bit like dairy milk chunks tapped M6 and the member has a hole drilled in it to accept excess length
other side

it only needs a tack
up top i have welded a bracket and tapped this same size

also reason for doing it this way was same as oil cooler, i wish for both rads to be able to be removed from above by taking of either the lower or upper grill as there is the mass of bash plate etc in the way if field reps have to be done
G box back on friday so all happy days

I had noticed this but I can't recall if it was like this before I purchased the van. I thought I may have caught it off road.

I definitely hadn't noticed the front panel. I hope this isn't going to need the same as Lloyd's.

nah ,front defo looks ok from what ive seen,and im not going to delve much deeper now, one thing has already led to 6 others so we shall stop me thinks
now i could do with seeing picks of the pre filters fitted to vans as im aware there have been probs with water from the gutters etc getting in

well hmm , gearbox back in and busy hooking up the stuff thats been altered, no real issues .
the fronnt arb drop arm bushes were i beleive sourced from heritage ??? any how whilst the bushes them selves are good, the metal inserts are not,
they are too short and do not allow for the 10mm lower arm thickness also they are the wront ID
so

Well onwards, i was never happy with the signal wire to the solenoid as it sort of fell of being a large terminal on a small spade

so solder and shrinkwrap

bottles and fluids

ive run the cooler pipes this way as they have an easier run and do not get in the way of the actuator etc and leave loads of room round the starter and such

Is that bracket holding the tank with dalek cap a standard item or a custom job?
Mine's hanging off some bent coat hanger at the moment.
