I'd rather wait a day & have my parts from brickwerks - they're tried & tested - if they get the seal approval from them - that's good enough for me

Where ever you buy this part it's made by AMC. There are two versions available for wbx, the 1.9 (AMC part number 910184) and the 2.1 version (910185). The only apparent difference I can see is the inlet ports are a couple of mil bigger on the 2.1 version. Of course, which one you need now depends which you fitted the other side!) As far as I know, most places sell the 910185 as suitable for all WBXs. The DG version is less common, but can be found.
Coolair are quite expensive on this at 382 odd.

Acquired wisdom suggests not to fit it straight out the box, but to replace the valves with better quality. I have read lots of opinion from many sources about this, but AMC assure me the valve problems were identified and resolved several years ago, and all is well. I now removed, inspect, lap in, check collet fit and guide spec, refit and leak test before fitting. I have stripped engines with AMC heads and have not yet come across the severe valve wear that others have reported. But that's just my experience, others will differ.

I bought a Topran heater fan switch which doesn't fit with the existing knob. I was told that Topran is NBG. Below is a list of manufacturers who make or label that switch ranging from £3.39 to £14.56. Who would you trust?

Brickwerks on their webpage say Febi is the best, but they out of stock now. Their alternative one is most probably JPgroup

Hi all. Any opinions on the custom and commercial German quality parts. Looking at track rods. Apparently lemforder have stoped production so looking for a decent alternatives. Doesn't say who makes them so any experiences appreciated

OE for this part was Lemfoerder or TRW, neither now produce this part. We've sold LOADS of JP Group ones without any returns, got some on my own vehicles without issue. Sensible money.

What are the most recent info on brake part manufacturers? What are recommended nowadays?
Just read on the german forums that even new ATE rear drums are pulsing. Some german vendors went to LPR from Brembo+Zimmermann as they had problems.

My discs and drums are around wear limit, so will have to change them soon.
I have good experience with TRW pads and shoes bought in 2016/2017 they are well below 50% after 50.000kms but drums and discs were bought in 2008 ~150tkms before.

I think I need a new Ignition Coil Green Label, pin type .
readings are :- Primary 0,5 Secondary 2,49 I assume this is shot .
Seen some Beri made in Germany , same part number , has anyone any opinions on these ?

If somebody repairing the rear brakes, the ATE spring kit is made in Denmark by Quick Brake. The QB partnr is 105-0571 for half the price if you not insisted on the blue cardboard.

Got a rear brake spring kit from GSF (JP classic) not long ago.

However for parts 99.9% its Brickwerks.

Hey guys, not sure if this thread is still active lol, but I've got a mrk2 Golf (1991), looking for a coolant flange for it, on heritage they list one under the FORST brand but cannot find any information about this online. I've also looked on a website under the name AutoDoc which offers several different variants. I've spoken to them over the phone and they recommend Metzger, but am not sure whether their just trying to sell me a more expensive brand, as they also list Febi Bilstein and Meyle. The muched beloved GSF (only joking!) don't list one. Any advice will be most welcome.
