Re: Autosleeper thread
All on route to you, just for interest, seals direct are not the cheapest,, I ambmouthboyo wrote:T25Convert wrote:Hi,
I've just replaced all the window rubbers on my 1985 Trident (with the louvre rather than sliding window above the cooker).
For anyone looking to do the same you'll need the following rubber sizes off seals direct (http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/) who are the chepaest, and who do rather nice bits of rubber with quick delivery! Be aware that most 'kits' that are sold won't fit as they are for the wrong panel thicknesses.
Sliding door rubber - 1.6mm to 5.0mm (metal to glass)
Rear side windows - 5.0mm to 5.0mm (metal and trim to glass)
Louvre - 1.6mm to 1.6mm (metal to metal)
Fitting the rear winodws is a bit of a pain (they're curved, so require a bit of a push to ge them in!).
Hope that this is of use to someone - means you might be able to order news seals before you take the old ones out!
Cheers,
Alex
Do you remember the code for the louvre seal and hiw much you need for autosleeper ?
Cheers

also with regard to the louvered window, this fits just the same as the other side windows, we dont go near it with a rope/string etc. also our seals do run to a very very tight radius,,

Re: Autosleeper thread
I have found a replacement hob and grill that fits the space that the old fellows hob occupies.
As fellows hobs are no longer made, and spares are hard to get.
I thought a nice new hob and grill would be great, but finding a replacement was a real trek around the internet.
the Spinflo Hotplate 2BGF SS MK12 + G/BOX hob is a direct replacement in size
the link is for the suppliers not a retail outlet I think
It's here.. http://www.miriad-products.com/product. ... 00&xSec=74" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have ordered one off e-bay at £168 ..so I shall report back on it's fitting later
retailer

Re: Autosleeper thread
Hi everyone, apologies if this has been answered before, I have looked for it already on the forum...
I have a 1987 high top autosleeper but don't know where to put the parcel shelf when camping. Last time we put it under the rear cushion but it didn't really fit there and I had to squash the cushion over it (and under the wardrobe), plus you have to get out the van to do this and what with the rain this summer! This time we put it in the high top bed, but it over hung the "ladder" and would be no good if we were going for more than 1 night due to all our other stuff in there.
I can't sleep with it on and have my feet down the far end because my 10 month old daughter sleeps in the bed with us and I don't want her to fall out!
What does anyone else do? Am I being an idiot and there is in fact a place for it?
It's the only design fault I can find with the van, especially when you consider how much less space there is in my parents T4 autosleeper when the bed is out.
Thanks in advance!
Paul

Re: Autosleeper thread
Just a suggestion but whenever I need to 'lose' something I find slotting it between the drivers seat and the kitchen unit a good spot
if it'll fit of course

Re: Autosleeper thread
It can go in front of the drivers seat
I put mine under the van
Just a thought ...as your sleeping with your head at the thin end...Can't you put your daughter on the parcel shelf in a travel cot?

Re: Autosleeper thread
As Kev suggested I think I saw somebody else on the forum who had rigged up a cot above the parcel shelf. Looked very cosy
We sleep with our head at the driver's end so we leave the parcel shelf in situ when we sleep. That comes in hand for putting the laptop on if we want to watch a DVD or any other stuff we have.

Bike racks that fit on the tailgate alongside the A'sleeper ladder; can't see any mention of this elsewhere in this thread, so I thought it might be worth adding a link to this thread (in case anyone comes looking for this info in future):

Re: Autosleeper thread
Hi,
I always found the parcel shelf a bit of a pain so I cut mine (widthwise) into four. I put a strengthening batten under each piece. I recovered mine as well.
Now the pieces just lift out and stand on end in the cab area at night.

I had the same problem so I made a small removeable locker on the opposite side to the wardrobe where I stow my levelling ramps and hook-up cable. I made a narrow drawer to fit into the cut out at the bottom of the wardrobe where I stow the jack and wheel brace. I made a norrower parcel shelf and bought a smaller slab of foam for the end of the bed. This and the parcel shelf will just fit into the high top when not being used. I decided not to cut the original parcel shelf and foam just in case. So far my new arrangement has worked out fine

Have you got any pics of your modifications that you could share on here? Would be interesting to see them.

I have taken pictures of the mods and loaded them to photobucket but can't see how to resize them so will do it with MS and them load the resized pics to photobucket when I get time.

Re: Autosleeper thread

you will note on the right of the picture I have fitted a partition in the wardrobe and cut holes in the back to give two handy storage pockets

this pic shows the jack drawer partly pulled out

this pic shows the lockers above the ramp and hook-up cable locker

this is the budy seat I made for my Bi-Pot 30 toilet

I wanted it higher than standard to match the height of the bed/seat so made two drawers under it

I also made a clip on extention so that it would take two people but still allow the fridge and cupboard to be opened. I hope to get the foam and seat/bed recovered at some stage.
I had to redo my parcel shelf as I had to move the seat forward about 6" in order to get a 70 ltr LPG tank under it when I had my conversion, I didn't want a gap between the back of the seat and parcel shelf.
