Just in case you did not know. The passenger seat can be slid all the way forward, then click the little locking catch up and it slides right off the runners. Then, turn it around and slide it back on. Not quite as convenient as a proper swivel base, but costs nowt, doesn't raise the seat height and doesn't get in the way of the leisure battery

On mine, I tie wrapped the locking catch up (not the main adjuster !! ) and cleaned up the runners to make it easier to do. Takes about 60 seconds to turn it around

Good tip but mine has them fitted already although I had to take the drivers side off when I fitted the Alfa seats.

Yep I've been doing this for a while now. Great tip! Cheap and easy. Still would like a pair of swivel bases, shame they're so expensive :-\

I didn't realise you could slide them right off by holding up the catch - I bent up the tags at the back of the rails and slid them off - but cheers for the tip for your method.

Its a little slightly hidden catch behind the main one, on the left hand side of the seat. I just looked at mine and I forgot that I didn't, as I said above, tie wrap it, I actually unclipped the spring that holds it in the down position and then I wedged it in the up position (did that quite a long time ago, hence why I "remembered" what I had done incorrectly )

to get the battery out on the westy but same principle.

Good tip. Mine is a swivel but fouls on the battery which is brand new. I'll try this out.

Good tip..... but I wouldn't fancy trying swapping seats using that method after a few pints....! And also can't be done on the drivers side if you have furniture that side :0(

I have just bought and fitted two swivels for my van.. really easy to fit and no problems swivelling them as long as you move the seat fore / aft a little here and there during the 'swivel'.

The base raises the height of the runners by maybe 10 - 15 mm but I did have to fit new shorter leisure battery. They are quite expensive but they give us plenty more room in the van. Bear in mind too the swivel bases makes removing the battery impossible without removing the base first.

I've got captain's seats and always spin the passenger one around once we're parked up. The arm-rest on the seat just clears the one on the door as long as the seat is pushed back on the runners as far as it will go. Where does your's catch the seat belt?

Are you sliding it in from the rear (oo err) or tye front of the van

From the front. The seat back needs to be upright and then there's just enough room to angle the seat back on to the rails.

Will try that thanks, not sure I will do it camping though as at night infront of the passenger seat is where the p bucket goes
