I know that there are a lot that say don't bother to cover your van in the winter (a good wax, drive it all year, etc)...
But has anyone actually bought one of these covers and if so what is your opinion of it. Is it worth the money?

I've got one for mine. I also wax. It's breathable and vented. Works a treat, does not get damp or whatever on the inside, no condensation etc. Don't believe all the comments from the nay Sayers. Wax is great, but I'd rather keep mine dry thanks :ok
It only goes on if the weathers crap and I know I'm not going to use it for a few days.

Hi
Just thought I would let you know about the cover I have bought for my hi top. I know that some people say to just use a good quality wax as protection and to use it often. I have sorned my van for the winter and intend to do a lot of work to it including taking the windows out for body repair. Without access to a suitable covered area I had little choice and am very pleased with the cover I bought - time will tell!
This is what I bought from eBay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Deluxe-Air-ve ... 2576e370e3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And this is the cover in use

Image

It has zips to give access to both front doors and for the sliding door. Side vents are held open by Velcro struts and there are 3 underbody straps to hold it down. Also there is an elastic hem to keep it tight at the base.
:ok

Did you get a chance to look back through your purchase history? I'm interested to know which cover you bought. The one that Woodyyellow bought ^^^ looks good, but I'd like to check the alternatives before taking the plunge.

In case it helps anyone, I got a JK cover for hitop a few weeks ago, We have autosleeper with steps up the tailgate and with these on the cover was really rather tight around the van. When I had cover off at weekend to do some work, I noticed that paint had been rubbed though to primer in a couple of places at the rear  I took steps off tonight (off work early) and it fits better now, but will be watching closely. We had same type of cover on our old early bay for 3 or 4 years and it was fine. Cheers, Bri

the problem with the jk cover is after about 6 months max they let water in due to creasing the cover and sunlight , i have a carcoon cover it looks to be made of same material and its still 100% waterproof after many years of use and due to the air system you dont get any condersation under cover

I've had the same issues with my cover, which now lets water through after 12mths ish.

Hi, mine is the same as John's above.
Think it's great, no leaks or any other issues.

My ten pence
Dust and other airborne clutter will get between the cover and the paint.
Any movement will start the abrasive process.
All I say is if you value the paint and the protection it gives, covers that touch it are eventually destructive.
its like washing the van without rinsing it first

Canuba wax it.
rain X it
van port it.
don't touch it. :D
