Camping/stopover near M6 suggestions?

Doing the 3 peaks challenge with around 30 colleagues in June. We are travelling from Southampton to Scotland & are looking to break the journey up. Anyone know of any campsites at a pub or good stopovers near the M6 anywhere between say Stoke-on-Tent & Blackburn? Or even campsites near travel lodges etc. to cater for everybody’s preference? Some could camp & others stay in hotel
Any suggestions appreciated
Cheers

Are you going to have time for a stopover? I thought best thing would be is to share the driving and sleep on the move.

I think he means on the initial trip up to the start!
I attempted the Guinness World Record for this event in 1987.... couldnt even think of it nowadays!

How far off the M6 you willing to travel?
There is a travellodge in Crewe (10 mins from jct 16), only campsites I can think of near to jct 16/17 are about 30mins drive.
I,ll rack my brain cell see if I can think of any nearer.

theres a couple of CL Sites nr blackburn in clayton, very close to the M6. handy for a superb indian restaurant or Italian Restaurant... stayed at both of them, as cheaper than taxis when going to the Indian. can try and find number if they're of any interest...?

E D I T: No idea why I didn't think of this before as it's near me...........

Just off M6 J29, south of Preston, Premierinn have two hotels for some unknown reason on either side of the A6 Bamber Bridge Bypass (Preston South Cuerden Way and Craven Drive they are called). So I can see no reason why 30 blokes shouldn't be able to get rooms spread across two hotels? They are both by the South Rings business park which doesn't sound amazing BUT they are within spitting distance of....

Two pubs (The Poachers next to the Cuerden Way hotel which is a two for one place, and the Walton Fox next to the craven drive hotel which is just a normal food pub with a decent bar area, plenty of outside seating and real ale)
A burger King
and a sainsbury's

If you prefer there is even a nice indian restaurant in Bamber Bridge within 5 minutes walk called The Naz (PR5 6FN) but doubt you'll want spicy food before a walk and near there is also a subway (PR5 6EJ) if you want a big ghastly butty for your walk

There is even a B&Q for picking up the missus some nice DIY stuff along the way

Here's a map

Thanks guy but the conundrum is finding both a campsite & budget hotel to suit all preferences & pockets very near to each other. We dont to venture too far at all from the M6. Thinking 20mins max. really
Kathy if you can dig out the details of the campsites you mentioned & I'll see if there's a travel lodge near by
