Well heres a fgew of him in his glory.
lots of signs of a.n.other having been in and messing with stuff

awfull colour
it has an extra protrusion or two

and as some chancers would say, slight surface rust,but given the vans agein really good condition

now there is a little something missing here and a little something that spells work,

it doesnt get better

now when you fit a pattern side panal there is a good reason for doing them in a specific manner and the cut out tabs at the top corners need welding in a specific way ,they are not an edge up to which filler can be applied


so thats a pair of rear wings to cut back off and they have really daubed the insides with gunge and oh its Hhorrible wish i could roll my R's
so looking fwd to cutting it open , front panal lower is also shot,
these wheels are being replaced so may i think be up for grabs soon, they are fitted with 225-45 x 17's
legal for now,

It was thoughtful of them to apply stone chip protection halfway up the sides, and maybe the seamless front panel was a VW prototype

Indeed. From the first shots, it really doesn't look that bad - until you start to pick up on those little clues that cry "bodge inside!".

indeed, mind'st i use a very very fine stone chip just prior to gloss but way lower down, and as its over good metal i figure that if a chunk of fjord or other foreign body chips the paint at least it should bounce of the stuff? and not get to expose bare metal
ah the upper front panal ,
there was a lad on here recently did this to one , ,for sytling reasons i think , i had also considered it but it just looks so wrong in my book. so it will be reinstated as built

Say mike, when you make some incisions, could you post up a few pictures of the method of removing a panel, like where you make the cuts and why?

well they say mimicry is a sincere form of flattery, The rear wing would be enough.. no need to show it all, I'm curious to see how you decide where to cut and then, separate the seam.

yes fine ,taking appart be it mechanical or anything else is as important as the actual repair and whilst there are rules to try to adhere to there are always going to be variations and this is where past experience comes in ,
the joy is when you get a task youve not quite done before so sad as it may seem i get a bit excited and it also breaks boredom.
