Butt connectors

Hi,
Have used these from time to time on vehicle wiring but never thought of using on domestic/household cables ie up to about 5amp.
Has anyone used them around the house?

Hi, Why? Do you have your doubts?
Who hasn't twisted some wires together and then taped up with no probs.
Thinking about 13amp/240volt terminal blocks they are just a piece of brass with cable inserted each end and covered in plastic insulation so why not butt connectors?

Anyway, assuming that you mean wiring butt connectors after reading the post - no I have never, ever, twisted mains cables together and covered with insulating tape.
Depends upon the splice as a lot that I have seen offered are rated for 12v / 24v use only but you can get suitably rated ones for mains use ( using the correct crimp tool) if you search like:

Do not understand the above but no matter.
Lost count of the number of sites that I visited [supervisory] over the years, from housing to power stations, where the electricians had rigged a temp supply by twisting wires together usually with no insulation to solve a problem. Not in the 'book' and not HSE compliant but solves a problem temporarily.
My suggestion was only for small stuff, I tried it on a glue gun and it is fine.
I thought maybe there were 240v connectors around, as you show, but I don't have a need for them whereas I do have a supply of the 12v ones for the VW.

Ahh you mean 'through crimps', I thought you meant the plug in circular 12v female and male connectors

On house mains wiring I would use Wago connectors ro classic terminal blocks to lenghten wires.

I too thought you meant bullet and butt connectors. Ok for low powered speakers, but not serious power, 12 or 240 volt.
