That is more than cosmetic as it has delaminated, try some boatyards that deal with fibreglass boats - they may be able to help more than a garage. There may be a vehicle repairer locally that deals with fibreglass shells but I wouldn't hold my breath whilst looking if I were you. For a proper strong repair you will need to get to both sides.

it’s non structural and it’s not exactly delaminated , you could quite readily fix that with fibreglass filler , or white gel coat , white resin , it’s not difficult to repair

You have 2 choices - bodge it as above or do it correctly and regain the strength and integrity of the whole.

Its always worth trying it yourself, however if not experienced and have no access to the correct equipment, asking a professional to have a look at it and giving some advice would not hurt.  Part of the joy if you can call it that of owning one of these vehicles is to have a crack at it yourself after researching.  There will be lots of opportunities in other areas to exercise that.

Are you on something that has affected your vision? There is no way that is a surface scratch, a surface scratch would not run down the vertical plane like that. The cracked fibres can be clearly seen.

OP - You can believe which version that you think best.   ( I wouldn't go to sea in a fibreglass boat that has a surface scratch like that )

No problem with my vision, perhaps I’m not a drama queen and actually know some stuff

Strength will be affected but only slightly. Personally I would heavily sand off both sides of the roof and all of gel coat and 6-10 inches either side. Then clean it. Dig out any loose then using resin and fibreglass mat neatly repack the crack the over lay to bond. Sand it off when dry and clean it. Then reapply gel coat.

Or you could try casting resin and chopped up fibres and talcum powder to create a paste to fill. Gel coat.

Or get a quote from boat yard/fibreglass roofing company etc.

With or without a Cummings eye test....

That is a well damaged roof, which will not get better all by itself...

I bought an accident damaged pop top last year, and finally got round to repairing it this Spring.

I used a yacht repair kit from West glass...about €50 from Internet.

With the help of You Tube, I was able to fix the roof ...no prior experience...

The finish was done with Rustoleum paint.

When I get my big computer back I can post pics if you like..

What particularly struck me was how fragile the GF panel was when damaged, and how strong after repair..

For future tranquillity, I would suggest mounting the radio antenna at the front of the roof.....if it scrapes..it won't go through..

Well at least you scraped it in the middle where the fiberglass is thicker.

Look for a mobile glass fibre repair bloke in your area, there are plenty in Sussex/Hampshire because there are plenty of boats so there must be some in Kent.

Generally not that bad £££ wise and results can be invisible, at least for the first few years.

Obviously a repair will still be shiny when the surrounding area has gone flat and needs buffing, buffing or polishing the whole lots solves this.

Im in Margate too. Happy to help in any way l can.
If you think this task is beyond your capability my suggestion is to visit a place in Ramsgate marina making moulds for fibreglass vessels. There's is one by the arches with the cafes etc.
Personal l would attack the damage from both sides. Have you viewed internally yet?
