Old DJ injection conversion

Hello
Got a few  parts available to convert the old DJ and MV injection system over to a modern aftermarket ECU
with new readily available sensors and injectors. The air flow meter is replaced with a MAP sensor and a throttle sensor.

Your picture doesn't work, at least for me.

Would be interesting to see what benefit that would bring

I think the main benefit will be when the old system goes pear shaped after 35 years and is non serviceable due to lack of parts not to mention the benefits of a modern ECU with things like overheat protection, rev limiters etc

Is this a commercial venture? AFM can be successfully converted to eliminate the wiper track and its wear issues.
MAP sensing can bring its own problems due to pressure fluctuations or pulsing if the sensor isnt well placed.
Would be interested in more info though.

Just something I developed over the winter months . I'm awaiting someone to turn up with a 2.1 so I can complete the project with ECU wiring and a tune.
With regards to modifying the AFM yes I'm sure all sorts can be done but this is all about removing ALL of the old system and replacing with modern serviceable parts and a modern aftermarket ECU that can be accessed for diagnostics and tuning.
Regarding the MAP sensor-MAP signal can be prone to fluctuations on certain induction systems but the stock WBX with it's mild cam and centre plenum is about as good as it gets, the ECU I use has some serious tweakable MAP signal filters and also a built in MAP sensor so you could switch from the external one fitted to the plenum just by connecting a thin tube . Then there is the option to tune using the throttle position sensor as primary load using Alpha-N with MAP as opposed to Speed/Density which just uses MAP and RPM

What sorta costs are we looking at? I've seen kits on speedshop for about 1.5k

Probably a bit less than that but depending on skill level it could be done DIY using one of the cheaper ECU's out there and making up
your own wiring for well under a grand. The bits to do the conversion above -stainless fuel rails, injectors ( used and flow tested) map/temp sensor and TPS kit just over £220 easy DIY fit to your own manifold. I made the one above and supplied it to a guy in France who is fitting it to a 1.9 carb model

Something for me to think about in the future for my 2.1 build. I've been looking for a while now at different kits and such.
DIY kits appeal but in terms of ECU and engine maps I'd be in the dark.
Was toying with refurbing my digijet system I had with it but an ECU is gonna be about £200. Or getting a digifant system which might be about the same if not more.
I guess the issue is they are all old and not really all that great in comparison to what you can get today.

It's food for thought.

Just a bit of a question for the OP here. He says he made that one himself in the picture. The picture he posted is the exact same one as the one from

https://vwspeedshop.com/product.php?pro ... 519&page=1

He mighta been having us on chaps, unless he works there.
