Can anyone point me to where I can find the engine number on my campervan, noticed on DVSA website when checking for MOT extension it was listed as Diesel, whereas the DVLA and My V5C lists it as Petrol. Intend to contact DVSA to change it to what it should be hence searching for all information. Ive been putting petrol in it for the last 6 years so hope its not Diesel (HAHA) :?

It’s just below your oil separator tower

You will still need some accompanying paper work to support it

I wouldn’t be rushing to worry about it right now .... if it’s been like 6 years , a few more months maybe a clever move ....
The mot man can correct it on the mot database when he tests it if you bring it to his attention , without the need for forms or other paperwork .

Thanks, checked the serial no and it tallies with my V5C, all previous MOTs also reflect Petrol, unsure why the MOT guy can do anything?

It’s only a error on the mot database , you already said it’s petrol on the V5 .
The mot man can correct it , as he is authorised and will have inspected it really is petrol

Spoke to MOT guy yesterday ref above when taking my other car in for its MOT, he cannot amend the fuel part of the database on my camper as it is not an area he has access to, he does have access to colour change and something else but not the fuel type area.  Also tried to speak to DVSA but vague response from young person I spoke to who did not have a clue what I was talking about.  Should I bother chasing it anymore. :?

Well that is interesting , because my mot man corrected mine a few years ago , must have changed the system since I guess ...

I may prompt him again, when my camper is up for its MOT renewal.  Interesting thing though when I took my car in for its MOT which had been extended by six months, I put it in a few days earlier in case of any remedial work, although it passed, the renewal date for next year was not extended from its current expiry date but from the date it was just MOT'd.

To end thread and put a good word in for the DVLA for a change, contacted DVLA by phone, spoke to a very helpful Lady, and explained the situation to her reference the wrong fuel type listed for my Campervan,  Listed as Diesel not Petrol which it should be,  put on hold for several minutes whilst my query was checked.  DVLA Agent confirmed that my documentation was correct and the problem lay with their system/database or words to that effect.  She sent an email to amend the error to a colleague and told me it would take five working days to rectify. Checked six days later and now DVLA reflects correct fuel type ie Petrol.   :ok :ok

Five or so days to rename a field in a database is absurd.
But at least you got it sorted!

Yes exactly, I suspect the DBM (Data Base Manager) do updates on a specific day or weekly basis after collecting all changes so that they can all be done together.
