Unlike decorating and other scrapers for specific jobs (e.g cabinet) engineering scrapers are precision hand tools
and generally not intended to flex in use.
Made from high carbon or tool steel, there are two that I always find myself using :-

Flat scraper (Eclipse) and Bearing scraper (solid or hollow scalloped scraper), small, large or medium

Usage: Scraping surfaces flat and smooth (their intended use); deburring edges; chipping heavy rust (ideal tool); scraping /flaking off light rust; removing underseal; removing paint (scraping or chipping); cleaning seams out etc.
