I changed mine from Van to Motor Caravan

Along with the V5 I sent a letter as below. It was written to show the van had all the requirements of a Motor caravan. I sent a pile of photos to back this up. I used these documents as guidance

http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/repository/Motor%20Caravans%20-%20Advice.pdf

http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roads/vehicles/vssafety/importsapproval/howtoimportyourvehicleperman4559?page=8#a1032

There were no further questions or requests for inspection, the V5 came back ammended.

Application for amendment of V5 to Motor Home/Caravan

VRM: XXXXXXXXX

Dear DVLA,

Please find enclose V5 document requesting change of details. I am the owner and registered keeper of this vehicle. When I bought the vehicle it was part converted as a camper but not registered as such, I am led to believe it has been a camper for more than 10 years but I have no history. I have since fitted a new interior which is now complete and includes: Permanently fixed rear seat which folds down to provide a 6' bed. Permanently fixed cooking/kitchen facilities, including 2 ring hob, oven and grill, sink with running hot and cold water, fridge. A rigidly fixed but detachable table which mounts in the centre of the seating area, but is stored to allow the bed to be put down. Permanently fitted storage including side lockers, over head locker, under bed locker, toilet box. The van is also fitted with a hi top roof which provides further storage and child's sleeping area.

Hope this helps, Regards Mike.
