There are a few minor differences in the engines fitted to Syncros.

The 1.9 Syncros have some differences to the carburrettor TD Turbo Diesel Syncros have a difference in the turbo waste-gate actuator (vac unit) - to prevent water ingress. TD Turbo Diesel Syncros have a cyclone separator incorporated into the large cannisetr air filter end-cap, only 'some' 2WD export models had that too.

The crankshaft (pulley end) seals on some petrol engined Syncros is different

The exhaust system has differences on the petrols and the silencer is mounted higher on the Syncro diesels.

Some of the electrical components of the 2.2 injected petrols may be mounted in slightly different places (than 2WD T25s)
