4.5 litres from empty (new); Can overfill on floor, install and when installed and level, remove level/filler plug and drain back to bottom of hole. People are now using (for a better 1st>2nd gearchange when cold and good all-round protection, more modern lubes e.g. Redline MT90, Amsoil, and the semi-synthetic 75W-90 combined gbox/diff oils e,g, FUCHS, Comma (red bottle) etc..

Front Diff

Spec GL-4 or GL-5 EP 80W Ditto transaxle sem-synths 1.5 litres

Warnings

AmazingDave: When I went to the lube suppliers to replace Al's oil they showed the syncro petrol box as needing 3 litres and the diesel needing 4 litres... ? It's the Morris lubricants catalogue... Aidan: The figures they are giving are factory spec for the four speed 2wd box, but even there I'd recommend four litres regardless. The petrols with less torque run less oil for a smoother gearchange supposedly, but the syncros are 4.5 litres from empty regardless of engine.

General

Maybe 4 litres when oil changfed in situ, due to trapped oil ariound diff casing and nose cone..
