Looking to book somewhere in or around the devon area or a bit further down the coast. Having not been to the area since i was kid id like some advice on where to go. Im looking for somewhere with a beach and town within walking distance? Also id like somewhere to chill not somewhere thats going to be noisy.
Can anyone help?
Cheers

Hi, it depends on where you want to go,croyde is a nice village on the coast with a number of camp sites. But can get busy woolacomb is nice but all camp sites are up the hill so a drive to the beach and gets very busy.personally i like croyde and its only 20mins from barnstable for shopping trips.

Hi
Though a bit furthur along the coast (.......like Cornwall) I would recommend Polzeath.
Stay at the Valley Caravan and camping site it is almost on the beach - no need to drive once you have pitched up -
Ferry to Padstow from nearby Rock.
The beach car park resembles a Range Rover dealership forecourt in height of summer
Lovely walks along the coast and great beach for bodyboarding / Surfing
There are campsites across the bay/estuary near Padstow and a nice quiet one near the Sharps brewery Tremayne Farm nr Rock where we stayed last yr.
We are returning to Valley camping site this yr as detaching theawning every day and driving to the beach was for me a bit of a chore...... then again Tremayne Farm was a nice friendly camp site
Have a good time wherever you go...
Regards

100% agree, Polzeath is lovely, isnt that with the Oyster Catcher pub up on the hill just out of the town?
Lots of found memories there, must return one day.

Yes
Its lovely there isnt it,
Oyster catcher pub on one side and the Doom Bar on the other.
Galleon beach cafe breakfasts are just the thing to have after spending 8-9am falling off a surf board and reminding myself im not 25 anymore
We first went there a few yrs ago and tho its a long drive from brighton and we probably pass places equally as good - we have been back a 3 times times and enjoyed
every trip and found a new place to visit in the area too....

Hope to be there end of may after stopping off at the IOW for 4 nights...
Regards
